Scheduled for May 6-7, 2024, the second International Conference on Sustainable Regional Development in Central Asia is set to be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
The 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Regional Development in Central Asia, organized by RSAI in collaboration with the Samarkand branch of Tashkent State University of Economics in Uzbekistan, seeks to foster collaboration among international speakers, academic scientists, researchers, and scholars from Europe and Central Asia. The conference serves as a forum for the exchange of experiences and knowledge encompassing all aspects of Regional Science and Sustainable Regional Development. Additionally, it functions as an interdisciplinary platform for the presentation and discussion of recent regional advancements, innovations, challenges, and practical solutions within the field of Sustainable Regional Development in Central Asia.
Throughout the two-day conference, a myriad of topics within the conference theme were extensively addressed. The inaugural session delved into crucial discussions on “Globalization, anti-globalization, and post-urban city-regions after the pandemic” by Hans Westlund who is the president of the Regional Science Association International (RSAI), along with an insightful exploration of “Urbanization and Economic Growth: Cross-Country Evidence” by Abdul Shaban, the associate professor from Tata Institute of Social sciences, India. The plenary sessions exhibited a broad spectrum of subjects, ranging from the pressing issue of Amazon deforestation to the intersection of food and beverage tourism. The comprehensive coverage of these diverse aspects contributed to the richness and depth of the forum.
