Chronica Hungarorum (1488) by the court historian Janos Thuroczy (1435-1489?) is a rather understudied primary source for the Ottoman military history. Thuroczy is a balanced historian with sound judgement. There is a wealth of information on Janos Hunyadi and his struggle against the Ottomans. The chronicle also includes vivid descriptions of pitched battles.
